The rules for using Gymbora: what's free and what Pro costs, what the coach is and isn't, what's yours and what's ours, and what happens when things go wrong. Plain language, no surprises.
The agreement
These terms are a contract between you and Gymbora LLC ("Gymbora", "we", "us"), a company in the United States, covering the Gymbora app for iPhone and Android, the Apple Watch app and widgets, shared workout pages, and gymbora.com (together, "the Service"). By creating an account, subscribing, or using the Service in any way you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
You must be at least 13 to use Gymbora. If you live in the EEA or UK, where the age of digital consent can be up to 16, you must be at least that age. If you use the Service on behalf of someone else, you confirm you have their permission.
What Gymbora is
Gymbora builds a weekly training plan from a few setup questions, logs your workouts set by set with your previous numbers next to each one, keeps a history for every lift, tracks steps and simple wellness check-ins, and includes an AI coach that answers questions using your own training data. It is a fitness tracking and planning tool for healthy adults who want to train with weights.
It is not a medical device, and nothing in it is a diagnosis, treatment or medical, physiotherapeutic or nutritional advice.
This is not medical advice
Physical exercise carries real risks — muscle and joint injury, cardiovascular strain, dehydration, and aggravation of existing conditions. Plans, exercise instructions, targets and coach replies are general fitness information generated from patterns in your logs. They don't know your medical history and can't see how you move.
Talk to a doctor first
Before starting a new programme, and especially if you have an injury, a heart condition, high blood pressure, are pregnant, or haven't trained in a long time.
Stop if something hurts
Pain that isn't ordinary muscle fatigue is a reason to stop, not to push through. No plan or coach reply overrides that.
You train at your own risk
You are responsible for choosing weights, using equipment safely and deciding whether a suggested exercise is appropriate for you.
Emergencies
Gymbora is not an emergency service. In a medical emergency call your local emergency number.
The AI coach can be wrong
The coach is a large language model (Google Gemini) that reads your logged workouts. It can still produce answers that are inaccurate, out of date or unsuitable for you, and it may sound confident while doing so. Treat its replies as a starting point for your own judgement, not as instructions. Don't rely on it for injury, medical, medication or nutrition questions — ask a professional who can see you.
Coach usage is subject to fair-use limits (a daily message allowance for guests and free accounts, and abuse detection for everyone) so it stays affordable for the people who use it as intended.
Your account
Signing in
You sign in with a one-time code we email you, or with Apple, Google or Facebook. Keep access to that email and those accounts secure — anyone who controls them controls your Gymbora account.
One person, one account
Accounts are personal. Don't share yours, use someone else's, or create accounts for other people.
Accurate information
The height, weight, age and training details you enter drive your plan and calorie estimates. You're responsible for keeping them accurate.
Guest use
You can use Gymbora without an account. Guest data lives only on your phone; if you lose the phone or delete the app, it's gone and we can't recover it.
You're responsible for activity under your account
Free use and Gymbora Pro
Your first five workouts are free, with the plan, logging, exercise library and coach included. To keep training after that you need Gymbora Pro, an auto-renewing subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play.
Prices
Pro is $95.99 a year or $15.99 a month in US dollars. Your store shows the exact price in your local currency before you confirm; it may include tax and can differ by country.
7-day free trial
New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. When it ends, Apple or Google charges the plan price unless you cancelled at least 24 hours before. One trial per Apple ID or Google account.
Auto-renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
How to cancel
iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Gymbora → Cancel. Android: Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Gymbora → Cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the paid period ends.
Refunds
Payments are processed by Apple and Google under their terms, so refund requests go to them:
reportaproblem.apple.com or
Google Play. We can't issue refunds ourselves. Unused portions of a period aren't refunded except where the law or the store requires it.
Restoring a purchase
A subscription is tied to your Apple ID or Google account. On a new phone or after a reinstall, use Settings → Restore purchases rather than buying again.
Price changes
If we change the price, the store will tell you in advance and ask for your consent where required. If you don't agree, cancel before the new price applies.
Your content
Your workout history, plans, routines, photos, check-ins and coach conversations are yours. You give us only the permission we need to store them, sync them across your devices, generate your plan and coach replies, and show them back to you. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
Shared workouts
When you tap Share, you're choosing to publish that workout's title and exercises on a public page that anyone with the link can open. Don't share anything you want to keep private. You can delete shared pages by deleting your account.
Leaderboard
If you take part, your display name, profile photo, points and tier are shown to other users. Choose a name and photo you're comfortable being public, and don't use anyone else's identity or images.
Photos
Only upload photos you took yourself or have the right to use. Progress photos stay private to your account.
What you may not do
Break or abuse the Service
No reverse-engineering, scraping the exercise library, bulk-downloading content, probing our servers, or interfering with App Check, payment or free-workout checks.
Misuse the coach
Don't use it to generate content that's illegal, harmful, harassing or that impersonates someone; don't attempt to extract its system prompts or run automated traffic against it.
Resell or share access
Pro is for you. No sharing accounts, reselling access, or using the Service to build a competing product.
Harm other users
No offensive names or photos on the leaderboard, no impersonation, and no attempts to identify or contact other users through the app.
Break the law
Don't use the Service in a way that violates any applicable law, including export controls and sanctions.
We can remove content and suspend or close accounts used to break these rules, with or without notice depending on severity.
Our content
The Gymbora app, website, design, code, brand, exercise library, exercise images, instructions and generated plans belong to Gymbora LLC or our licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use them through the Service for your own training. You don't get any other rights — no copying the library into another product, no reusing the images, no using the Gymbora name or logo without written permission.
Feedback you send us can be used to improve the Service without any obligation to you.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Gymbora available and reliable, but we can't promise it will always be online or error-free. Logging works offline; the coach, syncing, leaderboard and shared pages need a connection. We may add, change or remove features, and we may discontinue the Service altogether — if we do, we'll give reasonable notice and a way to export your history where practical. App stores may also stop supporting older versions or operating systems.
Third-party services
Parts of the Service depend on companies we don't control, each under its own terms:
Apple and Google
App distribution, subscriptions and billing, Sign in with Apple / Google, Apple Health and Health Connect.
Google Firebase and Gemini
Hosting, sign-in, storage, notifications and the AI models behind the coach.
Meta
Facebook sign-in, if you choose it.
If you download Gymbora from the App Store, Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them; Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support and isn't responsible for the app, its content or any claims relating to it. Similar terms apply to Google for downloads from Google Play.
Ending the agreement
By you
Delete your account any time in Settings → Login & security → Delete account. Your data is removed as described in the privacy policy. Cancel any subscription separately through your store — deleting the account doesn't stop billing.
By us
We can suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, if the law requires it, or if we discontinue the Service. For serious breaches we may do so immediately; otherwise we'll tell you why.
What survives
Sections on your content licences already granted, our content, disclaimers, liability, governing law and anything that by its nature should survive continue to apply after the account ends.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties — express or implied — about fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of plans, coach replies, calorie or step estimates, or uninterrupted availability. You use the Service, and train, at your own risk.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Gymbora LLC is not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from your training, from reliance on any plan or coach reply, from loss of data, or from any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss. Where liability can't be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in that period, or US $50 if you paid nothing.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law. If you are a consumer in the EEA, UK, Australia or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection, you keep every right that law gives you, and these terms apply only to the extent they don't conflict with it.
You agree to hold Gymbora LLC harmless from claims by third parties that arise from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the Service.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which Gymbora LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that state, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the EEA or UK, you may instead bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live, and nothing here removes protections you have under local consumer law.
Before starting any formal proceeding, please email us — most issues can be fixed in a couple of messages.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the Service or the law changes. The date in the sidebar always shows the current version. For material changes we'll tell you in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect; continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept them. If you don't, stop using the Service and delete your account.
General
These terms and the privacy policy are the entire agreement between you and Gymbora LLC about the Service. If a court finds any part unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a provision, we can still enforce it later. You can't transfer this agreement; we may transfer it to a successor of the business, with notice to you. The English version controls if there is any inconsistency with a translation.
